Weekly Revision Plan Template for Class 9-12 (Copy and Use)

Revision fails when it is ‘whenever I have time’. This template gives revision a fixed slot every day and a rule for what to revise, so nothing learnt this week is forgotten next month.

The 1-7-30 rule

Revise every topic after 1 day, 7 days and 30 days. Day-1 revision is 10 minutes; day-7 is 15 minutes with questions; day-30 is a 20-minute test.

Template (copy this)

Day New study (1.5–2 h) Revision slot (40 min) Practice (30 min)
Mon Maths Last week’s Science topics (7-day) 10 Maths questions
Tue Science Yesterday’s Maths (1-day) Science in-text questions
Wed SST / Language Yesterday’s Science (1-day); last month’s Maths (30-day) Map/dates or grammar
Thu Maths Yesterday’s SST (1-day) 10 Maths questions
Fri Science Last week’s Maths topics (7-day) Diagram practice
Sat Weak topic Last month’s Science (30-day) Chapter test (30 min)
Sun — Weekly review checklist Flashcards, rest

Sunday review checklist

  1. Which topics did I learn this week? (List them for next week’s 7-day slot.)
  2. Which doubts are still open? Clear them today.
  3. Which chapter test score was below 70%? Add it to next Saturday’s weak-topic slot.
  4. Update the flashcard box (Leitner method).

Adapting the template

  • Board year: revision slot 60 min; add sample paper on Saturday.
  • JEE/NEET: practice slot becomes 40 MCQs; Sunday adds a mock.
  • Class 9/11: keep it light but consistent — the habit matters more than the hours.

Common mistakes

  • Revising only before exams
  • Skipping the 1-day revision because it feels too soon
  • Keeping the plan in your head instead of on paper
